About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Group Electrical Manager to take full accountability for the smooth functioning, compliance, and delivery of our electrical installations and outcomes. Acting as the Electrical Nominee for the business, you will manage daily operations, lead and mentor the team, and build seamless interactions between the electrical department and other corporate divisions (Admin, Integration, Sales & Construction).

This is a dynamic, multi-faceted role combining high-level business strategy, contractor management, and compliance to ensure premier job delivery, training, and auditing.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Strategy: Manage daily operations, assign tasks, and build a positive, highly productive team culture. Proactively recruit, onboard, and develop training programs.

  • Operational Efficiency: Plan human and material resources, drive and empower team processes throughout to improve departmental profitability, and minimize business risk.

  • Compliance & Authority Liaison: Manage & be accountable for onsite job compliance requirements & the Western Power Contractor Connect Scheme  (SACS), and liaise with Western Power and relevant regulatory authorities regarding wiring rules and current electrical standards.

  • Contractor & Client Management: Create and maintain a rigorous system to manage, audit, and train sub-contractors. Step in to resolve complex on-site issues and manage VIP client relationships.

  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work alongside the Integration, Operations, Sales, and Construction Managers to maximize company-wide synergy and resource efficiency.

  • Reporting: Prepare operational and business plan updates for senior management.

  • Safety First: Ensure strict adherence to OH&S across all instances and stay ahead of regulatory changes.

  • Apprenticeship Management: Setup, oversee & support apprentice training plans through to completion.

 

What We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position, you will have a background in the Australian residential building or similar sector, paired with natural leadership capabilities.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Electrical & Electronics trade background with a current, valid Electrical Worker's License, with previous experience holding or qualifying for an Electrical Contractor’s (EC) license (highly regarded).

  • Proven experience working as (or eligible to be) the Electrical Nominee for a business.

  • Contractor Connect (SACS) accreditation is highly preferred.

  • At least 5 years of leadership/management experience within the residential building market.

  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card).

 

Technical Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of AS/NZS3000:2018

  • Deep familiarity with the WASIR, WAER, and Open Cabling Regulations.

  • Excellent understanding of the telecommunications industry.

 

Skills & Attributes:

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • The ability to "improvise, adapt, and overcome" daily operational and project challenges.

  • Tech-savvy with an ability to adapt easily to company management software.
