As a part of our growing team, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment where precision, professionalism, and exceptional service are key. We are seeking a dependable Facilities Team Member to assist with the day-to-day maintenance and presentation of Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, working closely with onsite team members and centre management.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Facilities Team Member to join our onsite maintenance team at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, this role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the centre.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily maintenance tasks to ensure the presentation and functionality of the shopping centre is maintained to a high standard.
Conduct routine inspections of plant, equipment and common areas, identifying and reporting maintenance issues.
Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests from Centre Management and tenants.
Carry out minor repairs including patching, painting, cleaning, carpentry and general handyman tasks.
Liaise with external contractors onsite and support compliance with safety procedures.
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with Taylered’s safety policies and procedures.
Record completed tasks and maintenance activities accurately via digital systems.
Assist in maintaining storage and workshop areas in an orderly and functional state.
Foster a positive working relationship with Centre Management, tenants, and other stakeholders.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Trade qualification or relevant experience in a maintenance, handyman, facilities, or related fields role (preferred but not essential).
A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor maintenance issues.
Applicants must be available to work Tuesday through Saturday roster.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with tenants, contractors and management.
A strong understanding of safe work practices and a commitment to WHS compliance.
Reliable, punctual and able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks as required.
Basic computer literacy or willingness to learn digital job logging systems.
A positive attitude and pride in contributing to the presentation of the shopping centre.
Current White Card (Construction Induction Card).
A current driver’s license.
First Aid and CPR Certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain certification.
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) license and Forklift license (prefered) or willingness to obtain.
Successful candidates will be required to obtain a National Police Safety Check as part of the recruitment process.
