About the role

An opportunity is available for a Maintenance Officer to join the Roma Street Parkland Operations Team at City Parklands.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the primary purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality general maintenance services across the Roma Street Parkland facility, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with established safe work methods and procedures.

This hands-on role involves a diverse range of tasks, including:

  • General landscaping, painting, carpentry, plastering and brickwork
  • Tiling and paving repairs
  • Moving and relocating parkland furniture
  • Delivery and collection of goods and materials
  • Inspection and maintenance of City Parklands assets, including playgrounds
  • Performing minor mechanical repairs as required

The role also requires maintaining positive working relationships with the broader team, contractors, volunteers and visitors to the Parkland

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A trade qualification (desirable), or demonstrated knowledge of building materials, maintenance and repairs (including painting, carpentry, plumbing, concreting, fittings and locks)
  • A current C Class driver’s license
  • Proven experience working safely in a maintenance or similar environment
  • The ability to work independently and demonstrate a multi-skilled approach
  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Bobcat and/or Forklift licenses (desirable)
