About the role
Bakers Delight Kingsway is seeking a skilled qualified Baker & Bakers Apprentice to join our team in Madeley, WA 6065. These are a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering the high-quality baked goods our customers expect. Whether you are an experienced baker looking to refine your craft or an apprentice eager to learn the trade, you will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for excellence and freshness. This role is essential to our daily operations and directly impacts customer satisfaction and our business success.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and bake a variety of breads, and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards
Operate and maintain baking equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring all machinery is kept clean and in good working order
Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure consistent quality and prevent product waste
Weigh, measure and mix ingredients accurately to maintain product standards
Prepare dough and fillings, and shape products ready for baking
Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations
Rotate stock and manage inventory to ensure fresh products are available to customers
Work collaboratively with the team to meet production schedules and daily targets
Assist with display and presentation of finished baked goods
For apprentices: Learn and develop technical baking skills under the mentorship of experienced bakers
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a baker or demonstrable aptitude for baking (for apprentice positions, training willingness is essential)
Strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredients and food safety practices
Ability to work early morning shifts and maintain consistent attendance
Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy items and stand for extended periods
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality in all baked products
Reliable, hardworking and professional approach to work
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
For apprentices: Enthusiasm to learn, willingness to follow instructions and commitment to completing a formal baking apprenticeship
Relevant qualifications or certifications in baking or hospitality (preferred but not essential for apprentices)
Food handling certificate or willingness to obtain one
