Trade Assistant (Workshop Based)

Pearl Recruitment is currently seeking Trade Assistants for our well-established client based in Welshpool, a leading provider to the mining, manufacturing and rail industries. Due to an increased workload, they are looking for reliable candidates to join their team long-term. This role would suit someone with a strong workshop background, forklift licence and proactive attitude.

Details:

• Welshpool location
• $37.00/hr + super 
• Monday to Friday, 6:00am starts
• Usually 8–9-hour days, with potential for additional OT 
• Immediate start available

The Role: Working within a busy workshop environment, you will mainly be supporting boilermakers/fabricators with general TA duties. Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with clearing and preparing workshop space for additional machinery to be installed
• Moving materials, equipment and structural steel around the workshop
• Operating a forklift to load and unload trucks 
• Assisting boilermakers and fabricators with general workshop duties
• Using hand and power tools including grinders, drills and similar equipment
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
• Driving the work vehicle to assist with occasional equipment pick up / drop offs

  Requirements:

• Current forklift licence and minimum 6 months of strong operating experience (counterbalance)
• Previous trade assistant experience within a workshop or similar environment
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport (manual advantageous)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen
• Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work in a hands-on environment
• Unrestricted working rights
