Warehouse Storeman

RGM Maintenance | Avalon, VIC | Full-Time

About the Role

You'll be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, storage, and movement of parts, materials, and assemblies — keeping the production line running smoothly through precise stock management and timely delivery of components to the right place at the right time.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in accuracy, follows safety procedures without shortcuts, and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced production environment.

What You'll Do

•      Unload, check, and put away incoming goods using forklifts and manual handling equipment

•      Pick, pack, and deliver materials, kits, and parts to assembly areas

•      Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely

•      Verify goods against delivery dockets and report any damage or discrepancies

•      Follow stock control processes including labelling, binning, and recording movements

•      Support stocktakes and cycle counts as required

•      Keep warehouse areas clean, tidy, and safe at all times

•      Wear PPE and adhere to all site safety rules

•      Contribute ideas for process improvements and warehouse efficiency

•      Work as directed by your supervisor

What We're Looking For

Essential

•      Valid forklift licence (LF class minimum)

•      Experience in warehouse or stores work — unloading, picking, packing, and stock handling

•      Basic literacy and numeracy for reading delivery notes, labels, and stock codes

•      Team player with strong safe work habits

•      Ability to lift and handle parts up to 25 kg safely; willingness to use team lifts or lifting aids for heavier items

•      Comfortable with standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and physical work for extended periods

•      Willing to work in environments with noise, dust, and temperature variations

•      Able to wear full PPE (safety boots, hearing and eye protection, gloves) for a full shift

Desirable

•      Experience in defence, automotive, or heavy industry warehouses

•      Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, or barcode scanners

•      Additional high-risk licences (e.g. order picker LO, dangerous goods DG, dogging, rigging, overhead crane)

•      Experience with kitting processes for assembly lines

Work Health & Safety

All team members are expected to:

•      Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others in the workplace

•      Observe all safe working practices and use PPE as required

•      Report and maintain records of all hazards, incidents, and near misses

•      Adhere to all WH&S standards, procedures, guidelines, and related documentation

Security Requirements

This role requires an active or attainable Australian Government Baseline security clearance. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain the required clearance level.
