We are a well-established and growing fire protection company with over 25 years of industry experience and a team of more than 30 dedicated employees. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Fire Technician / Service Supervisor to join our leadership team.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced fire industry professional with strong technical knowledge of fire detection, occupant warning (EWIS), and exit and emergency lighting systems. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of technicians and subcontractors while ensuring the delivery of high-quality servicing, maintenance, repairs, and minor project works across our client portfolio.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across our fire detection and alarm systems division, managing the day-to-day activities of approximately six technicians plus subcontractors.
You will be involved in routine servicing, annual testing, fault finding, defect rectification, system upgrades, and minor installations, while also providing technical support, preparing quotations, and assisting with project planning and resource allocation.
A thorough understanding of both current and historical Australian Standards relating to fire detection, EWIS, and emergency lighting systems is highly desirable.
Lead and supervise a team of technicians and subcontractors
Manage service, maintenance, annual testing, and defect rectification programs
Oversee fire detection, alarm, EWIS, and exit and emergency lighting systems
Conduct site inspections, surveys, fault finding, and technical assessments
Prepare scopes of work, quotations, and rectification proposals
Assist with workload planning, scheduling, and resource management
Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and Accredited Practitioners
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to field staff
Support minor installation and upgrade projects
Ensure compliance with AS1851, AS1670, AS2293, NCC requirements, and relevant industry standards
Extensive experience within the fire protection industry
Strong working knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems
Experience with EWIS and exit and emergency lighting systems
Proven experience in servicing, fault finding, repairs, reporting, and commissioning activities
Ability to prepare quotations, scopes of work, and technical reports
Experience managing technicians and subcontractors
Excellent communication and client relationship skills
Strong understanding of current and historical Australian Standards and compliance requirements
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to broader business objectives
NSW Electrical Licence
Certificate II or higher in Fire Protection Inspection & Testing
Open Cabling Registration
Experience with Uptick and Microsoft Office
Fire Safety Assessor qualifications
Fire Design qualifications
