About the business and the role
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced fitter to join our service and repairs department. The role involves the maintenance, service, and repair of centrifugal and meat processing equipment for our customers, locally and interstate. If you have experience in this field we would love to hear from you.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Duties include;
Disassembling, repairing and reassembling machines
Interpreting engineering drawings and documentation
Diagnosing faults
Writing up reports of work undertaken
Availability for site call outs when required
Be actively involved with inspections of equipment undergoing rebuild or repair
Routine servicing of machines
Interstate travel
Skills and experience
Meat industry experience or similar an advantage however not essential
A broad range of experience repairing centrifugal machinery (an advantage but not essential)
The proven ability to rebuild components to high standards
A neat and organised approach to your work
A strong commitment to teamwork and well developed communication skills
A high level of attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
The ability to work with minimal supervision
Tig Welding experience (an advantage)
Full, unrestricted driver's licence (essential for interstate travel and site visits)
Current forklift licence (LF class minimum)
A friendly demeanour and a team player
You may not necessarily have specific experience with centrifugal and meat processing machinery, however a willingness to learn and your ability to pick up things quickly is what we are looking for as on the job support will be provided. After appropriate training period, the successful candidate would be required to undertake site service work on their own, which may require travel interstate.
