About us
TMA Web is a leading international print and manufacturing company, with its head office in Australia and production plants located across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Auckland, New Zealand.
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Bindery Operator to join our busy production team at our Adelaide site in North Plympton. This is a permanent full time position offering day shift hours, free onsite parking and the opportunity to work with a well established print business.
About the Role
Reporting to the production team, you will be responsible for operating a range of bindery equipment, including Saddle Stitchers, Folders and Guillotines, while ensuring quality, safety and productivity standards are met.
This role will suit someone who is hands on, mechanically minded, quality focused and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
Setting up, running and adjusting Saddle Stitching machines, particularly Osako and Muller Martini models
Setting up, running and adjusting folding machines, particularly large MBO and Stahl models
Setting up programs and operating Polar Guillotine equipment
Checking the quality of printed materials throughout the production process
Performing minor maintenance, cleaning and general machine care activities
Monitoring machine performance and reporting any malfunctions or issues
Working safely and maintaining a clean, organised work environment
Troubleshooting production issues and suggesting practical improvements
Supporting the broader production team as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Trade qualifications and several years’ experience in the printing or bindery industry, although candidates with strong industry training and practical experience will also be considered
Previous experience operating Saddle Stitchers, Folders and Guillotines
Strong knowledge of bindery production processes and quality standards
A strong focus on workplace health and safety
The ability to work unsupervised and lead by example
A proactive, team focused attitude
Good communication skills
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality work
The ability to troubleshoot issues and work collaboratively with peers
