This is a permanent part-time (0.8 FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026.
The school is situated in an established bushland setting with mature trees, gardens and grassed areas throughout the site. As an Independent Public School in the City of Joondalup, we provide our students from Kindergarten to Year 6 with a caring environment and encouragement to strive for excellence in all aspects of their academic and personal development.
Edgewater has a focus on literacy and numeracy skills, supported by a strong pastoral care strategy. There are school-wide procedures for the early identification and support of students with learning difficulties, as well as those with behavioral, emotional or social challenges.
The Role
Join our team as a Gardener - Handyperson and contribute to fostering a positive learning environment. As a key member of the staff, you'll be instrumental in maintaining the school grounds, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and conducive to a positive environment for both students and staff. From overseeing the turf areas, garden beds and shrubs to managing hard landscaping features like courts and paving, you'll play a vital role in creating an inviting and inspiring outdoor space.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, thrives when working independently and enjoys maintaining and improving outdoor and indoor spaces. The successful applicant should perform general gardening duties, identify and complete jobs proactively and competently, perform minor maintenance/repair and handyperson tasks in accordance with the Department of Education’s policies and guidelines.
The successful applicant should display effective communication skills, be well-organised, self-motivated and reliable with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with staff and external contractors.
