Production Manager

Morayfield Smash Repairs & Towing are seeking an experienced and highly organised Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our repair workshop. This hands-on role is responsible for managing workshop workflow, repair quality, staff productivity, and ensuring vehicles are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. The successful candidate will oversee the repair process from initial handover through to final delivery while maintaining strong communication with customers, staff, insurers, and suppliers.

Task & responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the panel repair workshop to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs
• Coordinate job allocation, scheduling, and workflow planning using the iBodyshop estimating system
• Manage the vehicle repair process from initial assessment through to final delivery
• Liaise with staff, customers, insurance assessors, and sublet suppliers regarding repair progress and requirements
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications and industry standards
• Monitor staff productivity and workshop performance
• Resolve operational issues and customer concerns professionally and efficiently
• Promote and maintain a positive, safety-focused, and team-oriented workplace culture

Qualification & experience

• Demonstrated experience in panel shop operations, automotive repair management, or a similar role
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Experience using estimating or workshop management systems (including iBodyshop preferred)
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of manufacturer repair methods and automotive industry standards
