Join the HDD Solutions Crew – Component Fitter

Are you an experienced Component Fitter based in Perth's northern suburbs looking for a workshop role where your skills are genuinely valued?

Want consistent metro work, quality equipment, and a team that appreciates hard work and technical expertise?

At HDD Solutions, we specialize in rebuilding underground mining machinery and major components. More importantly, we've built a workplace where good people enjoy coming to work, support each other, and take pride in delivering quality results.

If you're motivated, technically minded, and enjoy working in a close-knit team environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Why You'll Love Working at HDD Solutions

We're not a giant corporate workshop full of red tape and endless layers of management.

We're a Perth-based business with a strong reputation in the mining industry, a growing client base, and a proud partnership with Volvo Penta.

At HDD Solutions:

  • You're treated like a person, not a number

  • Hard work gets recognized and rewarded

  • You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople in a supportive team

  • There are genuine opportunities to grow your skills and career

  • We offer consistent metro-based work with 46+ hours per week

  • Every day is hands-on, challenging, and rewarding

  • We take pride in our work while maintaining a positive workplace culture

The Role

You'll work closely with a small, experienced team carrying out component rebuilds and major component change-out projects for underground mining equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys precision work, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality rebuilds to strict industry standards.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Major component rebuilds and change-out projects

  • Stripping, inspecting, assessing, and rebuilding mechanical components

  • Completing detailed reports on findings and parts requirements using company documentation

  • Reading and interpreting service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation

  • Diagnosing component faults and identifying repair requirements

  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality control

  • Working effectively within a small workshop team to meet project deadlines

What We're Looking For:

  • Australian recognized Mechanical Trade Qualification (HD Fitter, Plant Mechanic or Mechanical Fitter)

  • Minimum two years' experience working as a Component Fitter

  • Experience working on Sandvik, CAT, Dana, and Kessler equipment

  • Previous underground mining component rebuild experience

  • Current Australian Driver's License

  • Full Australian working rights

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical

  • Strong understanding of component disassembly and assembly procedures

  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical drawings

  • Ability to work unsupervised and effectively manage your time to meet scheduled deadlines

  • Highly motivated, independent, and technically minded approach

  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

If you're looking for more than just another workshop job and want to be part of a team that values your skills, respects your contribution, and takes pride in producing quality work, we'd love to hear from you.
