Lux Grooming Barbershop is a professional barbershop providing men’s haircutting, beard grooming and shaving services in a commercial shop environment. The business services a regular client base and operates in accordance with professional hygiene, safety and customer service standards.

The role

We are seeking an experienced Barber to join our team on a full‑time, ongoing basis. This is a hands‑on role forming part of the core service delivery of the business and requires the ability to work independently in a commercial barbershop setting.

Duties and responsibilities

The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties on a regular basis:

* Consult with clients to assess hair type, facial features, grooming preferences and desired outcomes

* Cut, trim, shape and style men’s hair using scissors, clippers, razors and other professional barbering tools

* Perform beard trimming, shaping and shaving services, including hot towel shaves where applicable

* Carry out razor work, line‑ups and sharp edging in accordance with client requests

* Apply grooming and styling products and provide advice on after‑care and maintenance

* Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic work environment in line with workplace health and safety requirements

* Clean, sterilise and maintain barbering tools, equipment and workstations

* Manage client appointments, including walk‑ins and bookings, and provide professional customer service

* Handle payments and support daily shop operations as required

* Comply with all business policies, workplace procedures and industry standards

Skills and experience required

Applicants must demonstrate:

* At least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Barber in a commercial barbershop environment

* Ability to independently perform a full range of men’s haircutting and grooming services

* Experience with modern and classic men’s cuts, beard grooming and shaving services

* Strong client consultation and customer service skills

* Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation and workplace safety standards

* Ability to work reliably in a full‑time, ongoing role as part of a small team

* Relevant barbering qualification (such as Certificate III in Barbering or equivalent), or equivalent practical experience.

Salary

AUD 75,000 to AUD 90,000 per annum, commensurate with skills and experience.
