Diesel Motor Mechanic

As a Diesel Motor Mechanic at Branski Australia Pty Ltd , you will play a critical role in keeping our delivery and rental fleet on the road. You will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostics, routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and major mechanical repairs on our light-to-medium commercial fleet, including diesel trucks and refrigerated transport units.

Task & responsibilities

• Perform scheduled logbook servicing, preventative maintenance, and safety inspections across a diverse fleet of diesel trucks (light/medium rigid), vans, and rental vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic faults efficiently using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Undertake minor and major mechanical repairs, including engine, transmission, brake, steering, and suspension overhauls.
• Repair, replace, and reassemble worn or faulty mechanical parts, utilizing manufacturer service manuals and technical specifications to ensure precise calibration.
• Dismantle and inspect engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other critical components to identify wear or defects.
• Conduct post-repair diagnostics and adjustments to ensure all mechanical systems perform at peak efficiency.
• Complete detailed service reports, manage job cards, and maintain accurate maintenance of logs.
• Ensure all fleet vehicles comply with Australian transport safety regulations and roadworthy standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment, adhering strictly to WHS policies.

Qualification & experience

Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent Australian recognized Trade Certificate).

Experience: At least 1 year proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably with light-to-medium commercial trucks (e.g., Isuzu, Hino) and commercial transport fleets.

• Experience or exposure to refrigerated vehicle transport systems is highly desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with standard electronic scanning tools.

Licence: A valid Australian Driver’s Licence (an MR or HR licence is a strong advantage).

Attributes: A high level of attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative transport operations team.
