Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (Mechanical)

Working collaboratively with your team to achieve consistent compliance with guidelines and policy, this role is ideally suited to a qualified AME (Mechanical) with experience and a genuine passion for military jet aircraft maintenance and refurbishment.

Task & responsibilities

Working collaboratively with your team to achieve consistent compliance with guidelines and policy, you will have an in-depth working knowledge of aircraft frames, mechanical parts and systems to enable you to: 

• Dismantling, inspecting, diagnosing, testing, repairing and reassembling aircraft engines, ancillary motors and engine accessories, electrical systems, and aircraft structures.
• Conducting routine/regular inspections of engines, components, systems and structures – checking for signs of wear, damage or malfunction.
• Ensuring compliance with all aviation standards (incl CASA and the company’s own CoA) and strictly adhering to all safety protocols.
• Reporting any matters or concerns affecting the airworthiness or safety of an aircraft via the correct channels/reporting structures.
• Handling of all components, faulty or otherwise, to company and aviation standards and requirements.
• Maintaining the facilities and equipment in a clean, safe and serviceable condition.

Qualification & experience

The ideal candidates for these opportunities will have:

• An AQF Certificate III (or equivalent) including 2 years’ experience OR an AQF Certificate IV (or equivalent) OR a minimum of 3 years recent and relevant experience in lieu of the formal qualification. 
• Experience in the various responsibilities listed above.
• Experience working on military jet aircraft essential.
• Experience working on Hawker Hunter and/or BAC 167 Strikemaster Aircraft highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft parts, spares and associated equipment.
• An exceptional work ethic. 
• A strong focus on safety and compliance. 
• Physically fit to undertake the responsibilities listed above. 
• High attention to detail.
• Demonstrable experience adhering to regulations, policy and procedure. 
• Intermediate communication skills – both verbal and written and an empathetic nature. 
• Ability to work well within a team environment, interacting respectfully at all times. 
• Ability to take direction, whilst using your initiative and working autonomously where required also.
