Job description

Unitex Industries is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Painter to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual who is ready to start immediately and is committed to delivering high-quality work.

  • Responsible for painting the exterior and interior areas of the assigned projects
  • Set up scaffolding, ladders, and protective coverings to ensure the work area is safe and clean
  • Remove old paint and wallpaper
  • Repair and prepare surfaces by fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces
  • Mix and prepare paints to achieve the desired colour and consistency
  • Apply paints, varnishes, and stains to various surfaces using appropriate tools such as brushes, rollers, and sprays
  • Hang wallpaper, ensuring patterns match and edges are trimmed neatly
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas by cleaning tools and disposing of waste properly
  • Assist in storing leftover paint in the appropriate locations

Relevant Qualification

Relevant Certificate III or IV qualification

Relevant Experience

Plus 2 years relevant experience

OR 

3 years relevant experience in substitute to the qualification

Skills Required

  • Proven experience as a painter (inc. in Australia)
  • Relevant qualification or trade certificate in painting and decorating
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good understanding of safety and OH&S standards
  • Availability to commence work immediately
  • White Card and valid driver’s licence.
