SPORTS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

The Role

As a Sport Development Officer, you will play an important role in supporting and promoting soccer and futsal development programs within the organisation. You will be responsible for coordinating coaching activities, supporting player development initiatives, assisting with competitions and sporting events, and promoting participation in sport among young people and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote participation in soccer and futsal programs and support the development of sporting skills among young people and community participants
• Coordinate and support soccer and futsal development programs, training activities, and community sporting initiatives
• Assist coaches in delivering training sessions, player development activities, and sporting programs
• Support the coordination of sporting activities, competitions, tournaments, and development events
• Assist with organising local and international soccer tours, tournaments, and cultural sporting experiences
• Liaise with coaches, players, parents, officials, and sporting organisations regarding training schedules, competitions, and sporting activities
• Support the implementation of player development pathways, participation programs, and sporting initiatives
• Assist with recruiting participants, players, and coaching staff for soccer and futsal programs
• Arrange entries into sporting competitions and assist with coordinating team participation in tournaments and events
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, community participation, and youth engagement through sporting activities
• Assist in ensuring sporting activities are conducted in accordance with relevant rules, regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements
• Prepare reports, schedules, program documentation, and administrative records relating to sporting programs and activities
• Support the ongoing development and promotion of community sporting programs and youth participation initiatives

About You

A relevant qualification in Sport Development, Sports Management, Coaching, Recreation or a related field

At least one years of experience in sports coaching, sports development, soccer, futsal, or community sporting programs will be highly regarded.

Strong communication and organisational skills

• Ability to coordinate sporting activities and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and support young athletes

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, where required for sporting events and competitions

First Aid and Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
