As a Store/Retail Manager, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure excellent customer service. You'll maintain a clean, organized store, promote products and services, coordinate in-store services, and handle inventory while ensuring safety and operational standards. Additionally, you will drive sales and ensure the store meets performance goals

Task & responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by extending a warm welcome to clients. Be in charge of hiring, orienting, and training his staff.
  • Achieve the established KPls for Gross Profit Percentage and Sales Budget.
  • Assign tasks to maximise performance, set priorities and job objectives, and lead and teach the team.
  • Analyse the reports and put associated policies into place to maximise profit and create budgets.
  • Keep an eye on staffing levels, performance, and the shifts that assistant managers and supervisors oversee.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the store, monitoring inventory levels and product flow, and organising and executing processes that support store assets and functions.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure inventory is available and work with owners to ensure inventory is sufficient and recorded levels are accurate.
  • Manage customer complaints confidently and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct performance reviews to motivate the group to do better.
  • Make sure there is adequate succession planning.
  • In charge of educating employees about new hires through a variety of tests and competence evaluations.
  • Ensure that health and safety regulations are consistently created with both employee and customer safety in mind.
  • Managing consumer comments, questions, and grievances and making sure they are resolved as soon as possible.
  • Always keep an eye on the stock level to make sure there is enough for preparation and to reduce waste.
  • Carry out opening and closing procedures along with all other daily tasks in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the display and presentation of inventory are current.
  • Participate in training regarding new safety protocols.

Qualification & experience

  • Minimum AQF level diploma is desired
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in retail management or a similar role is preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven experience in managing inventory, implementing sales strategies, and driving store performance.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent customer service and maintaining store standards.
