Retail Manager

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy convenience retail outlet at BP X CONVENIENCE PARADISE.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining inventory and store presentation, ensuring excellent customer service standards, and achieving sales and operational targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the retail store and service station.

• Monitor sales performance, budgets, and financial transactions to ensure profitability targets are achieved.

• Maintain appropriate stock levels by coordinating purchasing, inventory control, and supplier orders.

• Ensure shelves, displays, and promotional areas are presented attractively and maintained in accordance with company standards.

• Recruit, train, supervise, and roster retail staff to ensure efficient store operations.

• Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing leadership and operational support.

• Ensure high levels of customer service are consistently delivered to customers.

• Handle customer complaints and resolve operational issues in a professional and timely manner.

• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.

• Implement security procedures, cash handling controls, and loss prevention strategies.

• Analyse sales reports and operational data to identify opportunities for business growth and improved efficiency.

• Coordinate promotional activities and marketing initiatives to maximise store revenue and customer engagement.

• Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and operational standards across all areas of the store.

• Liaise with senior management and suppliers regarding operational requirements and business performance.

Skills and Requirements

• Relevant qualification at Diploma level or higher in Retail Management, Business, or related field, or at least three years of relevant work experience in retail management.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• Experience managing inventory, sales targets, and retail operations in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.

• Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety and retail compliance requirements.

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in convenience retail, fuel retail, supermarket, or hospitality environments will be highly regarded.
