RETAIL MANAGER

The Retail Manager must be responsible for the day-to-day running of the store and managing various team members. Successful candidate must have excellent organisation and communication skills with a great attitude towards other staff and customers.

Task & responsibilities

Drive store performance to achieve targets, while controlling costs and losses

Contribute to all aspects of the store including serving customers and stacking shelves

Manage and oversee the training and development of your team

Order and maintain stock availability

Ensure the health and safety of all Team Members and customers are met

Manage the financial performance of the store

Determine the appropriate product mix and stock levels to meet customer demand and sales targets.

Establish service standards to enhance customer experience and satisfaction.

Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely stock replenishment.

Develop and implement purchasing policies to ensure cost-effective procurement and supply chain efficiency.

Formulate and execute marketing strategies to promote store offerings, increase foot traffic, and drive sales.

Promote and advertise the store’s goods and services through various marketing channels, including in-store promotions.

Provide excellent customer service, ensuring customer queries are addressed effectively.

Maintain comprehensive records of stock levels, financial transactions, and sales performance.

Prepare and manage the store’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability and profitability.

Monitor expenses, revenue streams, and overall financial health to drive cost efficiency

Oversee the selection, recruitment, and onboarding process for new staff members.

Conduct staff training to ensure employees are equipped with product knowledge, and compliance awareness.

Supervise store employees, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and customer service standards.

Ensure the store operates in compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.

Enforce workplace safety procedures and conduct regular risk assessments.

Qualification & experience

Relevant qualification or at least 1 year of relevant retail management experience

Strong leadership and team management skills

Excellent communication and customer service abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

Experience with stock management and retail reporting systems
