Facilities Assistant

The Brisbane Lions are looking for a practical and reliable all-rounder to join our Facilities Team at Brighton Homes Arena. If you enjoy hands-on work, love variety in your day, and get satisfaction from keeping a venue running at its best, this role could be perfect for you.

About the Opportunity
This entry-level position plays an important role in keeping the venue safe, presentable and ready for action. You’ll support daily operations across the precinct including basic repairs and grounds upkeep to moving equipment, setting up event spaces, receiving deliveries and helping contractors on site. It’s a role for someone who likes staying busy, solving problems on the fly, and making sure things get done the right way.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and handyperson tasks

• Help maintain gardens, outdoor areas and venue presentation

• Set up and pack down equipment, furniture, signage and event materials

• Assist with deliveries, storage and stock movement

• Complete regular inspections and report hazards or defects

• Support WHS processes, checklists and safe work practices

• Assist and supervise contractors working on site

• Contribute to opening/closing duties when required

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in maintenance, labouring or general handyperson work

• Confidence using basic tools, equipment and gardening gear

• A can-do attitude with a willingness to pitch in wherever needed

• Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving mindset

• Ability to work well with others and communicate clearly

• Physical fitness to safely complete manual tasks

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence

Bonus Skills (not essential)

• Trade qualification or relevant certificate

• White Card

• Forklift licence

• Experience in sporting or leisure facility settings
