Join us in our Maersk Contract Logistics team as a State Manager - Operations. You’ll play a vital part in our success, developing, designing, and implementing innovative warehouse solutions, which bring standardisation, visibility, and actionability to our customer’s supply chains.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Operations, we are seeking a highly skilled 3PL State Manager, how will be responsible for the management and profitable operation of logistics services for all Maersk contract logistics customers within the state. This is achieved by maintaining good relations with these customers, providing quality service, and delivering improved logistics support. The position has a responsibility to develop the business with existing customers and source new business from non-existing customers.

Main tasks
Develop and manage operational KPI’s ensuring consistent performance with the business plan and contractual arrangement.
Build and maintain strong strategic and operational customer relationships
Manage daily operations, reporting and strategic initiatives for the operations.
Continuous identification of process and productivity improvements
Monitor and report KPI compliance, and propose/implement corrective actions in a timely and efficient manner
Manage the operations in full compliance of company policies and legislative requirements
Financial performance
Responsible for delivering the financial budget.
Preparing budgets and forecasts
Monitoring Profit & Loss for site and customers
Analyzing performance against budget, monitoring variance to budget, turnaround plan to meet budget.
People Management/Leadership
Proactively organize team meetings and encourage direct reports to participate in decision-making processes
Performance Appraisals- Provide adequate support and coaching for direct reports and give regular feedback on performance.
Creates an atmosphere of team commitment and camaraderie amongst direct reports
Ensure direct reports participate and contribute to an effective team environment by actively working with fellow members to achieve team goals, standards, and agreed Organizational or Service Level Agreements and/or Objectives.
Manage team skill base, ensure skills are appropriately distributed throughout the team in order to meet team objectives.
Desired Skills and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
At least 5 years of managerial experience in contract logistics environment; with a focus on high-volume, automated operations, ideally within Fashion & lifestyle, retail and/or FMCG verticals
Strong leadership and engagement expertise having built a leadership team in a 3PL environment.
Negotiation and problem-solving expertise in a challenging environment.
Very strong warehouse layout/design experience having delivered key projects in an operational environment.
Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage teams in a fast-paced environment.
Track record of continuous improvement and process optimization.
Ability to solve complex operational challenges with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach.
Strong commitment and understanding of Work Health and Safety.
Proven experience in managing a sizable team comprising of direct hire and contractor staff
Be required to work very flexible hours in order to meet the customer’s fluctuating work requirements, teamwork oriented and able to communicate with people at all levels
Energetic, out-going, resulted oriented attributes
Advanced understanding in e-commerce technology, local and cross border fulfilment for different commodity/customers
