About the role

CST Hire is seeking an experienced Maintenance & Operations Manager - to join our team in Bibra Lake, Western Australia. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our vehicle rental fleet. You will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities, managing operational processes, and ensuring our vehicles meet the highest standards of safety and performance. This role is essential to our business operations and directly impacts customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  1. Oversee the maintenance and servicing of the vehicle rental fleet, ensuring all vehicles are kept in optimal working condition

  2. Follow maintenance schedules and protocols to minimise downtime and maximise fleet availability

  3. Manage the maintenance/operations team

  4. Monitor maintenance costs and budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency

  5. Conduct vehicle inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards

  6. Coordinate with suppliers and service providers to source parts, materials and specialist services

  7. Maintain detailed maintenance records and fleet documentation for compliance and auditing purposes

  8. Manage vehicle repairs, both in-house and through external contractors, ensuring timely completion

  9. Liaise with the rental department to ensure smooth handover of vehicles and address any operational issues

  10. Implement and monitor health and safety procedures within the maintenance facility

What we're looking for

  1. Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or Operations Manager within the vehicle rental, transport or logistics industry

  2. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, mechanical systems and fleet management practices

  3. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

  4. Excellent organisational and planning capabilities with strong attention to detail

  5. Proficiency in fleet management systems and maintenance software

  6. Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements

  7. Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across departments

  8. Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges

  9. Knowledge of budgeting and cost control in a maintenance environment

  10. A valid driver's licence
