As our Defence portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking experienced procurement and contract management consultants to support major capability acquisition, sustainment, ICT, and transformation programs across the Australian Government.
About the Role
You will work alongside senior Defence and government stakeholders, directly contribute to the delivery of a major forward work program supporting maritime capability across its full lifecycle. You will work within a highly integrated Defence environment, partnering with APS and ADF personnel to deliver high-quality procurement outcomes across a complex portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement planning
Support development of procurement strategies and plans
Define scope, sourcing approaches, and timelines
Provide advice on contracting models and methodologies
Tender development
Prepare and review procurement documentation (RFT, RFQ, RFI)
Draft Statements of Work and evaluation criteria
Ensure documentation is clear, compliant, and fit-for-purpose
Tender process support
Assist with tender execution in line with approved plans
Coordinate industry queries and responses
Support evaluation activities, including compliance and value-for-money assessments
Contract establishment
Support contract negotiation and finalisation
Prepare contract schedules and supporting artefacts
Assist transition from procurement to contract commencement
Contract administration
Track deliverables, milestones, and variations
Maintain contract records and reporting
Support ongoing contract performance management
Essential Requirements
Australian Citizenship.
Current NV1 Security Clearance (minimum).
Experience working within Defence, Federal Government, or Defence consulting environments.
Experience in procurement planning, tendering, and contract administration
Ability to support evaluation processes and value-for-money assessments
Knowledge of Commonwealth financial governance, compliance requirements, financial controls, and audit support processes.
Experience maintaining financial records and working with financial management systems.
Excellent written communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills.
Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in complex stakeholder environments.
