Teacher/Trainer & Facilitator - Lean Manufacturing & Process Plant Operations

We're looking for an experienced manufacturing professional and trainer to deliver high-impact, workplace-basedtraining across Lean Manufacturing and Process Plant Operations. In this role, you'll partner with industry (including BlueScope) to develop capability, drive continuous improvement, and support learners to succeed on the job - not just in the classroom.

This role is ideal for a "dual professional" with strong manufacturing experience and a passion for developing others - someone who can bridge theory with practical, real-world application and drive capability across modern industrial environments.

Casual opportunity available. Salary range aligns to the current MEA: L1 - L3 $91.42 - $98.77 per hour (dependent on qualifications & experience). This position will be based in Melbourne and Regional Victoria (as required).

About the role

As a Teacher / Trainer & Facilitator, you will deliver nationally recognised qualifications in Process Plant Technology and Lean Manufacturing within workplace and campus environments.

This is not a traditional classroom based teaching role - you will engage directly with learners in real workplace settings, supporting them to apply Lean principles and technical skills on the job.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver engaging training sessions in Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, problem solving, TPM and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate learning across Process Plant Operations qualifications (e.g. PMA40116), adapting delivery to suit different learning needs and environments.
  • Conduct workplace-based assessments, ensuring alignment with RTO and ASQA standards.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to students within their workplace to support competency achievement and skill transfer.
  • Engage with employers and stakeholders to ensure training meets workforce capability needs.
  • Support student success through feedback, pastoral care, and creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

About You:

Qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122), or equivalent adult education qualification).
  • Relevant vocational qualification (AQF Level 6 or above desirable) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated vocational competency in manufacturing, process plants, or related industries (e.g. steel, chemical, oil/gas, food processing).
  • Alignment with a child-safe, inclusive and values-based workplace
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies and their practical application.
  • Experience developing assessment tools and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse learner groups.
  • Ability to build relationships with industry stakeholders and adapt to changing environments.
