The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for analysing procurement requirements, coordinating supplier relationships, evaluating purchasing processes, and supporting procurement strategies associated with wholesale food products, hospitality supplies, and operational sourcing activities.

Task & responsibilities

  • Analysing procurement requirements and supply chain workflows to support wholesale food distribution operations.
  • Researching and evaluating supplier markets, pricing structures, product availability, and sourcing opportunities across food and hospitality supply categories.
  • Assessing supplier performance, delivery capabilities, pricing trends, and procurement risks to support strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Coordinating procurement planning activities to ensure timely and cost- effective supply of products and inventory across business operations.
  • Monitoring procurement processes and supplier workflows to identify operational efficiencies, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Preparing procurement reports, supplier evaluations, forecasting data, purchasing analyses, and operational recommendations for management.
  • Liaising with suppliers, logistics providers, warehouse teams, wholesalers, and hospitality clients regarding procurement schedules and supply coordination requirements.
  • Assisting in the implementation and improvement of procurement procedures, supplier compliance practices, and procurement systems.
  • Reviewing supplier agreements, procurement documentation, purchasing trends, and inventory requirements to support operational planning and procurement strategies.
  • Supporting procurement forecasting, inventory planning, and supply continuity across multiple wholesale food product categories

Qualification & experience

To be considered for this role, applicants should demonstrate:

  • Bachelor qualification in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 1 years of relevant procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or organisational operations experience.
  • Experience within hospitality, wholesale food distribution, procurement, logistics, supply chain, or supplier management environments will be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, supplier management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage procurement coordination and multiple supplier relationships in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement or inventory management systems.
