QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

AQF Certificate II or III

Minimum 2 years of truck driving experience

Be at least 21 years old for interstate driving or 18 for intrastate driving.

Hold a valid standard driver’s license.

Pass written knowledge tests covering road signs, safety regulations, and driving rules.

Complete a practical driving test to demonstrate your ability to operate a truck safely.

Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination to ensure you are medically fit to drive.

Undergo a background check, with a clean driving record and no serious criminal convictions.

Acquire additional endorsements if necessary, such as for hazardous materials, tank vehicles, or multiple trailers.

Meet vision and hearing requirements and be free from medical conditions that could impair driving ability.

Consider attending a truck driving school for specialized training and preparation for the CDL tests.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive the truck safely, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.

Adhere to relevant regulations, including hours-of-service rules and vehicle weight limits.

Follow practices to minimize environmental impact, such as managing fuel consumption and reducing emissions.

Perform regular pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck and specialized equipment are in good working

condition.

Complete preventive maintenance checks and basic repairs to vehicles.

Utilize GPS and other navigation tools to plan routes, stay on schedule, and manage efficient travel.

Load and unload cargo securely using Hiab crane, ensuring it is properly secured and protected during transit.

Review loading paperwork, inspect product condition, and obtain delivery confirmations.

Properly cover and secure items to prevent damage or loss.

Handle oversize and extendable steel products, including moving and configuring trailers and equipment as needed.

Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while avoiding potential delays.

Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatchers and team members regarding delivery progress and any

issues.

Interact professionally with customers, addressing any issues or concerns and ensuring satisfaction.

Handle emergencies, such as breakdowns or accidents, following established procedures and ensuring safety.

Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driving hours, and vehicle maintenance.

SALARY

$75,000 to $80,000 per year

WORKING HOURS

Full-time position, 38 hours per week.
