Responsibilities:
Responsible for machine operation, maintenance, repairs, equipment risk management, calibration, space and workplace layouts and engineering in order to improve manufacturing efficiency. Evaluate manufacturing processes, identify production issues and develop processes to increase efficiency. Responsible for compliance with OH&S, food safety, company policies and procedures, production record-keeping.
Main Duties:
• Review and analyse manufacturing/production plans, organisational charts, staffing schedules, facility layout and provide input regarding to production schedules.
• Identify mechanical equipment, space requirements, workflows, equipment layout and machine operators necessary for manufacturing processes to run efficiently and safely as possible in accordance with the production schedule.
• Coordination of the manufacturing process including the interaction between raw materials, machines, maintenance, machine operators and other components of the production process.
• Inspections of production quality, efficiency and safety
• Ensure machines are in working condition, arranging repairs and preventative maintenance or calibration/engineering to work efficiently and effectively.
• Testing machines and assessing whether to stand down machinery temporarily or replace machinery
• Establishing standards and procedures on installation, modification, quality, testing, inspection and maintenance in all aspects of production
• Identify bottlenecks in production
• Maintaining records of machinery repairs, warranties, operational status to measure performance and improve procedures.
• Recording production performance against time and cost estimates and adjust production plans to increase performance.
Qualifications required: Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
Skills required:
• Knowledge of relevant technology, machinery and equipment related to manufacturing
• Strong analytical skills to identity issues
• Proactive approach to trouble-shooting
• Excellent communication
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety and food safety, best practice SOPs.
