Commercial Analyst

Our client is a national PE business with genuine scale and operational complexity. They are looking for a sharp, commercially minded analyst to sit at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations. Someone who wants their work to matter at the executive level from day one.

You will contribute directly to board packs, strategic decision-making, and commercial initiatives across the business, working alongside Finance, Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain leadership. About the Role
As Commercial Analyst, you will own the delivery of high-quality analysis and reporting that drives real decisions across the organisation. Sitting within the Sales Support Services function and reporting to the Head of Sales Support Services, you will be a trusted analytical resource across the business, building models, preparing board and executive reporting, analysing branch performance, and supporting strategic and commercial initiatives.

The role also has a meaningful technology dimension. Our client is actively investing in AI-enabled tools and reporting automation, and this person will play a hands-on role in identifying and implementing those improvements.

What You Will Be Doing

• Preparing monthly and quarterly board reporting packs with clear commercial commentary on trends, risks, and opportunities
• Developing and maintaining branch-level reporting across revenue, margin, operational metrics, and customer trends
• Building commercial models and business cases to support investment decisions, growth initiatives, and operational improvements
• Conducting market analysis, competitor benchmarking, pricing reviews, and scenario modelling
• Identifying and supporting opportunities to automate reporting processes and reduce manual workload
• Supporting the practical adoption of AI-enabled tools across reporting, analysis, and workflow

What You Bring

• 1–3 years' experience in a Big 4 accounting, consulting, corporate finance, or commercial advisory environment
• Strong financial modelling capability with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations
• Advanced Excel skills and working experience with BI or visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Solid understanding of financial reporting, business performance metrics, and commercial analysis principles
• Exposure to AI applications or automation within a business or consulting context  and genuine interest in where this is heading
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to senior stakeholders
