An excellent career opportunity is available for a Family Law Clerk to join an established law practice specialising in Family Law and Domestic Violence matters. We will provide on-the-job training and support, and you will work alongside our experienced team of solicitors and law clerks in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
assisting solicitors with the management of family law and domestic violence matters;
drafting correspondence, court documents and other legal documents;
liaising with clients, barristers, the Courts and external agencies;
conducting legal research and preparing file notes;
answering telephone enquiries and assisting with client communications;
attending to file management and administrative tasks;
preparing briefs and assisting solicitors with litigation matters; and
assisting with parenting, property settlement and domestic violence proceedings.
It goes without saying that you will demonstrate an eagerness to learn, a proactive approach to all tasks, and the ability to work effectively within an established and successful team. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities and contributing to the efficient progression of client matters.
You will also demonstrate:
excellent written and verbal communication skills;
strong time management and organisational skills, including the ability to assist solicitors across multiple client files;
strong attention to detail and professionalism;
a responsible and autonomous work style; and
the ability to foster strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
