W Talent is proud to be exclusively partnering with a highly regarded, independently owned commercial construction company to appoint a skilled Accounts Payable Officer to their Brisbane-based finance team.

Based at their Murarrie office, this is a permanent, full-time role for a detail-driven AP professional who wants to be part of a nimble, high-performing team where their work genuinely matters.
What you'll be doingEnd-to-end processing of high-volume accounts payable across multiple concurrent construction projects
Invoice receipt, coding, approval routing, and payment execution
Three-way matching (PO, delivery docket, invoice) and discrepancy resolution
Preparing and executing weekly EFT payment runs
Reconciling supplier and subcontractor statements against the AP ledger
Processing employee expense claims and credit card reconciliations
Supporting month-end close including accruals, prepayments, and WIP reporting
Preparing aged creditor reports for the Finance Manager
Managing subcontractor records including compliance and licensing documentation
Liaising with project managers, site teams, and suppliers to resolve payment queries
Minimum 2–3 years' AP or finance administration experience
Background in commercial construction, building trades, or a related industry is highly valued
Solid understanding of GST, tax invoices, and AP compliance requirements
Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, Jobpac, or similar construction accounting/ERP platforms
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
Experience with subcontractor payment processes and construction cost coding is a plus
Familiarity with QBCC licensing and subcontractor compliance documentation advantageous
Exceptional accuracy and a "right first time" approach
Strong communication skills — at ease with site teams, project managers, and external suppliers
Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping or higher desirable
