Work Health Safety and Wellbeing are seeking to establish a pool of Workers Compensation & Injury Management Advisors for permanent and fixed term, full-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of June 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Department’s Work Health Safety and Wellbeing Directorate comprises two branches: Safety and Staff Wellbeing and Employee Support Services. The Directorate is responsible for ensuring that legislative frameworks are complied with and that employees mental health and wellbeing are supported. It provides strategic and operational advice to the Minister, Director General, school leaders and line managers on a range of matters including:
This role provides a holistic advisory service across the Department that includes details and structured advice to employees and management on injury management and workers’ compensation matters. Suitable applicants will assess and proactively manage an allocated portfolio of workers’ compensation claims in a responsive manner, supporting line management and the employee through the process, working towards a safe and sustainable return to work for injured employees and a reduction in costs.
To be successful in this role you will be expected to maintain compliance in accordance with the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023, Work Health and Safety Act 2020, other relevant Acts and Regulations set out by WorkCover WA and WorkSafe WA, including the Department’s policies and procedures. Additionally, you will be required to attend meetings, including claims reviews, key internal and external stakeholder meetings, medical case conferences, and other meetings as required.
