Client Services Administrator / Adviser Assistant – Insurance & Risk

The Position
Our client is a respected and growing financial advisory business seeking a Risk Client Service Officer to join their specialist Risk advice team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role spanning insurance administration, underwriting and claims management, and stakeholder relationship-building. The successful candidate will serve as the vital link between the firm's Risk Advisers and their clients, delivering exceptional service across a broad portfolio of personal and group insurance. The role offers a $90,000 package (inclusive of superannuation).
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for clients and third-party professionals, managing administrative queries across phone and email with timely follow-through
- Overseeing and monitoring insurance administration workflows, prioritising tasks and ensuring appropriate urgency is applied at every step
- Processing and managing underwriting and claims accurately and efficiently across both retail and group insurance, collaborating closely with Advisers on complex cases
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Underwriters and insurer stakeholders to support the best possible client experience from application through to claim
- Assisting with ongoing insurance client maintenance including policy updates, overdue premiums, cancellations, quotes, pre-assessments, risk schedules, reductions, and changes of client details
- Conducting quality reviews of outsourced administrative work to ensure service standards are consistently met
- Proactively identifying and leading process improvement initiatives that support better client outcomes and more efficient internal operations
About You
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and service-driven professional who brings technical capability and a genuine commitment to client care, including:
- Experience in personal or group insurance administration, preferably within financial services or a financial advice business
- Solid understanding of underwriting processes, claims management, and insurer engagement
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and high volumes of work without compromising quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-first approach
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with financial planning or insurance platforms advantageous
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the confidence to take ownership of outcomes in a fast-paced environment
