Software Developer Programmer

Vision Software Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Developer Programmer to support the ongoing development, enhancement and commercialisation of proprietary software solutions designed specifically for the disability services sector.

Established as a dedicated software development company following the successful development and testing of custom NDIS business management platforms within Empower Living Pty Ltd, Vision Software is currently progressing two major software projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in backend development, frontend integration, quality assurance, testing, maintenance and ongoing enhancement of these platforms as they are deployed to the broader NDIS market.

Task & responsibilities

• Research, analyse and evaluate software requirements for NDIS-focused business applications and technology solutions.
• Design, develop, test, implement and maintain software applications using Python, Node.js, React and Ant Design frameworks.
• Write, modify, debug and document program code in accordance with software development standards and project requirements.
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, database integrations and application architecture.
• Integrate frontend user interfaces with backend systems and ensure seamless functionality across platforms.
• Conduct software testing, quality assurance, debugging and performance optimisation activities.
• Identify and resolve software defects, security vulnerabilities and system performance issues.
• Participate in software release planning, deployment and post-implementation support activities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers and project teams to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation, development records and version control repositories.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to improve software functionality, scalability and user experience.
• Provide ongoing technical support and enhancements for existing software products and future platform developments.

Qualification & experience

• Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• At least two years of relevant experience as a Software Developer, Developer Programmer or similar role.
• Demonstrated experience developing applications using Python, Node.js and React
• Experience with frontend frameworks, API development and database integration.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.
• Experience with source control systems and collaborative development environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working within health, disability, community services or SaaS environments will be highly regarded.
