Job Advertisement: Entry-Level Business Host (Admin / Client Services) – Great for Uni Students

AgilisCA Chartered Accountants, Smithfield-based accounting firm

Are you a motivated university student looking to gain valuable real-world professional experience while continuing your studies

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Business Host to join our friendly team in an entry-level administrative and client services role. This is a fantastic opportunity to build practical skills in a supportive professional environment, develop your customer service expertise, and get hands-on exposure to the operations of a growing chartered accounting firm.

About the Role

As our Business Host you’ll be the welcoming face and voice of the firm, the first point of contact for clients and visitors. You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the office. This position offers real responsibility and excellent learning opportunities in administration, client relations, and professional services.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet clients and visitors in person, manage a busy multi-line phone system, and handle incoming and outgoing mail and shipments
- Answer client inquiries (face-to-face, phone, and email) regarding appointments, invoicing, payments, and general assistance
- Provide direct administrative support to senior leaders, including email correspondence, preparing memos, letters, spreadsheets, and forms
- Build rapport with clients and help nurture positive, long-term relationships
- Maintain office organisation, order supplies, and coordinate meetings and travel arrangements
- Log interactions and support the team with accurate record-keeping in our systems
- Contribute to a positive team environment and help continuously improve office processes

What We’re Looking For

We value potential and a great attitude over extensive experience. This role is ideal for university students who want to:
- Gain practical, transferable skills in a corporate setting
- Develop strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
- Learn about professional services and client experience in the accounting industry
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a small, supportive team

Essential
- Currently studying at university (any discipline welcome; business, commerce, IT, or administration particularly relevant)
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional manner
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Reliable, organised, and able to manage priorities and deadlines
- Positive attitude, initiative, and a willingness to learn
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional standards
- Previous customer service or admin experience is helpful but not essential — training and support provided

Why Join AgilisCA

- Valuable real-world experience to strengthen your resume while you study
- Exposure to a professional accounting and client services environment
- Supportive team culture with opportunities for mentoring and development
- Flexible working arrangements considered to fit around your university timetable (subject to business needs)

This is a part-time position with flexibility. We are committed to equal opportunity and creating an inclusive workplace in line with Fair Work Australia and Queensland employment laws.

How to Apply

Please send your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you’re interested in gaining experience with us to ******@agilisaccountants.com.au

We encourage early applications as we will be reviewing candidates on a rolling basis

AgilisCA is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees
