Technical Product Owner - Billing

ATCO Gas is modernising the systems that power our billing, GIS and business applications and we’re looking for a Technical Product Owner - Billing who can turn complexity into clarity, deliver systems our customers love, and keep our critical platforms rock solid.

This is a role for someone who can sit comfortably at the crossroads of business vision, technical detail and operational excellence. 

Purpose of Your Role

As the Technical Product Owner for Billing, you’ll be the connector, the translator and the strategic driver behind our next generation billing and critical business platforms.

You’ll work shoulder to shoulder with business stakeholders, architects, vendors and engineering teams to ensure our systems are secure, scalable, intuitive and future ready. And you’ll use data, real insights, to make smart decisions that lift performance and deliver value to our customers every single day.

• You maintain high platform availability through proactive monitoring, rapid incident response, and strong operational oversight.
• You drive alignment and clarity across stakeholders and vendors, ensuring strong communication, quality delivery, SLAs, and integration standards.
• You make data‑driven decisions, leveraging key performance metrics to optimise platforms, reduce technical debt, and guide long‑term strategy.

Exposure & Experience We’re Looking For

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (required).

Background

• Proven experience in technical product ownership or functional leadership, ideally across utilities, metering, or customer operations, with a strong track record delivering and supporting complex application platforms.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, and regulatory requirements for critical infrastructure.
• Skilled collaborator across cross‑functional teams, with strong vendor management and technical assurance capability.
• Exceptional communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills.
