Business Development Manager – Construction Technology Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a driven and results-focused Business Development Manager to join our Clients team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in the building, construction, passive fire, or compliance industries who enjoys building strong client relationships and delivering practical solutions that improve business performance.

You will be responsible for introducing and promoting an innovative software platform designed to streamline project management, compliance reporting, task management, site documentation, onboarding, and workforce collaboration across commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and cold calling.

  • Build relationships with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Business Owners, Site Supervisors, and Trade Contractors.

  • Demonstrate the value of our software platform to prospective clients.

  • Clearly explain software features, licensing agreements, and implementation processes.

  • Conduct presentations and product demonstrations via desktop and mobile platforms.

  • Assist clients through onboarding and adoption of the software.

  • Work closely with customers to identify challenges and provide practical solutions.

  • Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

  • Achieve sales targets while delivering exceptional customer service.

About the Software

Our Client’s platform helps construction businesses manage:

  • Compliance and audit requirements

  • Building and site inspections

  • Passive fire and maintenance records

  • Project documentation

  • Photo and data capture

  • Build reports and compliance reporting

  • Urgent and priority task management

  • Employee onboarding and training records

  • Mobile and desktop accessibility

  • Real-time communication and project visibility

The software is designed to simplify administration, improve accountability, and provide a streamlined system that can be used by all employees across an organisation.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Proven business development, sales, or account management experience.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Confidence in cold calling and generating new business opportunities.

  • Ability to explain technical or complex information in simple, easy-to-understand terms.

  • Self-motivated, organised, and target-driven.

  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Strong customer focus with the attitude that no client, project, or opportunity is too small.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience within the commercial construction, building, compliance, facilities management, or passive fire industries.

  • Understanding of construction project workflows and site operations.

  • Experience selling software, SaaS, compliance systems, or technology solutions.

  • Existing industry network within the construction sector.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary plus attractive commission structure and vehicle allowance.

  • Opportunity to work with an innovative and growing technology business.

  • Ongoing training and professional development.

  • Career progression opportunities.

  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.

If you have a passion for helping businesses improve efficiency, enjoy building lasting client relationships, and can translate complex information into practical solutions, we'd love to hear from you.
