You will be joining a collaborative team surrounded by experienced professionals with more than 30 years of industry experience.

About the Role

We are seeking a Gold Coast based, energetic and proactive Sales Development Representative to join our growing commercial team.

This role is focused on creating new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, phone based engagement, lead qualification and appointment setting.

You will play an important role in helping Weltrade Packaging grow by identifying suitable target customers, starting commercial conversations and booking qualified meetings for the Business Development Manager.

This is a high activity role suited to someone who enjoys speaking with people, building rapport quickly and creating opportunities through consistent outreach. You will use tools such as Apollo, CRM systems, email, LinkedIn and phone based prospecting to research target brands, identify decision makers and open conversations with potential customers across Australia.

This is not a passive administration role.

It suits someone who is confident picking up the phone, comfortable with outbound activity, resilient when conversations do not go to plan and motivated by turning cold prospects into warm, qualified opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Research target brands and prospective customers across Australia

Use Apollo and other tools to identify suitable leads and contacts

Make outbound calls to prospective customers

Conduct email outreach and LinkedIn engagement

Follow up inbound website enquiries and marketing leads

Identify decision makers and relevant contacts within target businesses

Qualify prospective customers based on suitability, timing and opportunity potential

Understand basic customer needs and identify where Weltrade may be able to assist

Book qualified Zoom or phone meetings for the Business Development Manager

Maintain accurate CRM records, customer notes and pipeline updates

Follow up prospects consistently and professionally

Support ongoing pipeline development and lead nurturing activity

Coordinate meeting times with the Business Development Manager’s schedule

Clearly hand over qualified opportunities to the commercial team

Achieve weekly activity, follow up and appointment setting targets

Contribute to a positive, reliable and team focused culture


About You

You are someone who enjoys speaking with people and is confident in starting conversations.

You communicate professionally, think quickly and know how to build rapport without sounding scripted.

You enjoy the challenge of outbound activity and are motivated by creating genuine commercial opportunities.

You understand that not every call will turn into an opportunity, but you stay positive, organised and consistent.

You listen well, ask good questions and take pride in representing the business professionally.

You are proactive, resilient and comfortable working toward weekly targets while maintaining accurate notes and follow up activity.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Confidence making outbound phone calls

A professional and engaging communication style

Strong verbal and written communication skills

The ability to build rapport quickly

A positive and resilient attitude

Strong organisation and follow up skills

Confidence using computers, CRM systems and online research tools

The ability to manage your own daily activity and priorities

A proactive attitude and strong sense of ownership

A reliable and team focused mindset

Experience in sales development, internal sales, appointment setting, recruitment, customer engagement, business development support or another phone based role will be highly regarded.

Experience using CRM systems, Apollo, LinkedIn or other prospecting tools will also be highly regarded.

Packaging industry experience is not required, but a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in helping businesses find better packaging solutions will be important.

The Right Person for This Role

This role is ideal for someone who gets energy from conversations.

You may have worked in sales, recruitment, appointment setting, customer service, lead generation or another role where phone based communication was a big part of your day.

You do not need to know everything about packaging before you start.

What matters most is that you are confident, curious, organised and willing to pick up the phone.

We are looking for someone who can open doors, ask smart questions, follow up properly and help create genuine new business opportunities for the team.
