We are seeking an experienced Product & Engineering Delivery Lead to drive the delivery of advanced robotics and autonomous systems projects across defence and commercial sectors.

Working with a multidisciplinary engineering team, the role is responsible for coordinating product delivery activities, driving iterative development practices, and contributing to the execution of product roadmaps and deployment of robotics solutions in real-world environments.

Based at our Malaga WA headquarters, this is a hands-on role operating across software, robotics and mechatronics development in collaboration with engineering, R&D and operations teams.

Company overview

Founded in 2017, Chironix is a veteran-owned Australian robotics company specialising in human-machine teaming and autonomous systems for high-risk environments.

We develop, integrate and deploy advanced robotic solutions that enhance human capability, improve operational efficiency and remove people from hazardous tasks — while keeping humans in control.

Working across defence, mining, utilities and industrial sectors, Chironix delivers robotic platforms, autonomous systems and intelligent software solutions designed for reliable real-world operations at scale.

In addition to commercial deployment activities, Chironix actively contributes to research and development programs across robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and simulation technologies, partnering with industry, government and higher education organisations.

Role purpose:

The Product & Engineering Delivery Lead is responsible for driving the delivery of Chironix’s applied robotics programs across defence and commercial sectors.

The role combines technical leadership, product delivery coordination and project execution to assist multidisciplinary teams in developing and deploying robotic systems for operational environments. Working closely with engineering, R&D and operational stakeholders, the position drives roadmap execution, agile delivery practices and continuous improvement across engineering activities

Drive iterative product development through agile delivery practices and continuous feedback cycles.

Define and refine product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with engineering stakeholders.

Work collaboratively with engineering, R&D and operations teams to deliver practical, scalable and operationally viable product outcomes.

Balance customer delivery requirements with ongoing product and platform development activities.

2. Project Delivery & Operational Execution

Drive delivery activities across robotics and autonomous systems projects from development through deployment.

Apply AGILE, SCRUM and Waterfall methodologies appropriate to project and customer requirements.

Maintain project schedules, delivery tracking and engineering coordination activities across concurrent projects.

Coordinate resource planning and engineering utilisation across delivery programs.

Manage RAID activities, including risks, issues, dependencies and escalation tracking.

Ensure delivery activities align with agreed quality, safety and operational requirements.

3. Engineering Leadership & Capability Development

Lead day-to-day coordination of engineering activities across software, robotics and mechatronics disciplines.

Drive the operation and continuous improvement of SCRUM and agile delivery practices across the engineering team.

Provide technical guidance, mentoring and collaborative problem-solving support to engineers and project teams.

Foster a positive and collaborative team culture focused on accountability, communication and continuous improvement.

Work closely with sales, R&D and manufacturing teams to support aligned project outcomes.

Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and capability development activities as the engineering team grows.

Key Skills & Experience

Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams within robotics, autonomous systems or complex technology environments.

Strong product management and project delivery capability, including roadmap planning, backlog prioritisation and iterative delivery.

Demonstrated experience applying AGILE, SCRUM and Waterfall methodologies across complex engineering programs.

Strong understanding of robotics, mechatronics, software systems and systems integration principles.

Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams across software, robotics and mechatronics environments.

Strong operational awareness, including resource planning, engineering utilisation and delivery coordination.

Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
