Harrison McMillan is seeking a Linux Engineer (EL1 Equivalent) to work with a Federal Government Department in Canberra.
Job
The Linux Engineer is responsible for developing and managing the Linux and Red Hat technologies that will deliver a high standard of availability and sustainability to ensure high standard of application performance to the Department and customers.
As you will be working in a geographically dispersed team, you will have strong capabilities in self-managing work and collaborating with people remotely, remaining connected to your team.
Key duties and responsibilities
Manage and administer the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems to ensure optimal performance, availability and security.
Design, document, implement, and maintain infrastructure solutions based on Linux platform, in collaboration with business applications, enterprise architecture and technology engineers.
Manage and collaborate with platform and business applications incidents and requests, ensuring high level of customer service and satisfaction in Linux solutions.
Lead and collaborate in technology projects, including lifecycle upgrades, security vulnerability management and enterprise applications.
Develop and document automation and monitoring solutions to streamline operational efficiency, capacity and performance.
Sustain and enhance the security and compliance of technology to meet organisation standard, ISM, Essential 8 and ensure data integrity.
Maintain and improve documentation of resolutions and operating procedures, to work towards root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
