We are looking for a creative, driven, and hands-on Marketing Lead to join the SBA team at our Somersby head office. This is a pivotal role that will shape how SBA presents itself to the industry, from social media and digital marketing, through to trade shows, sales support, and on-the-ground content capture.
Working as our in-house marketing team member, you will take ownership of the marketing function as, we bring more capability in-house. Travel is required, you will be out in the field shooting content in our manufacturing workshop, attending customer sites to capture delivery of orders and machinery in action, travel interstate to capture content from around our facilities, and attend trade expos.
You are a creative individual who is comfortable both behind a camera on a job site, or behind a screen building a campaign. If you are passionate about storytelling, have a hunger to grow a brand in a hands-on industrial environment, and want ownership of your work, we want to hear from you. This role is full-time, however we would consider part-time hours for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities• Plan, shoot, and edit photo and video content.
• Create engaging social media content aligned with SBA’s brand.
• Design marketing collateral using Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
• Develop case studies, blog articles, newsletters, and video library content.
• Support community initiatives with creative content.
• Manage and grow SBA's brand across social media channels, including scheduling, community engagement, and performance reporting.
• Use SEO strategies to enhance search rankings and drive website traffic.
• Update the SBA website, including product pages, and news.
• Execute email marketing campaigns for newsletters and product launches.
• Monitor digital marketing performance metrics.
• Support B2B and B2C marketing campaigns for target audiences.
• Liaise with sales team to create and maintain product and stock lists, price lists, and presentations.
• Create sales tools including brochures, technical data sheets, and specification documents.
• Coordinate SBA's participation in trade shows and exhibitions, from logistics, design, promotional materials, and post-show follow-up.
• Source branded merchandise and promotional products for events and gifting purposes.
• Coordinate customer visits for delivery of large orders to capture content.
• Take ownership of the broader marketing function.
• Contribute to SBA's overall marketing strategy and campaign planning.
• Maintain the SBA content calendar across digital channels.
• Manage brand relationships with external suppliers, agencies, and media contacts.
• Demonstrated experience in a marketing role, in-house, agency, or freelance.
• Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or other design tools.
• Strong social media skills, including content planning, posting, paid campaigns, and analytics across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Experience with content creation including photography and video capture and editing.
• Understanding of SEO fundamentals and website content management (WordPress or similar CMS).
• Excellent written communication skills, with ability to write clearly and engagingly for both B2B and B2C audiences.
• Confident, organised, and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• A genuine creative edge, you see a great content opportunity when you're on a job site, in a workshop, or at a customer delivery.
Desirable• Marketing experience in a trade, industrial, construction, or manufacturing industry.
• Experience in email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot or similar).
• Video editing skills (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar).
• Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Meta Business Suite.
• Experience coordinating trade shows or events.
• Experience creating promotional sales tools, pricing documents, presentations, product catalogues.
• Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Design, or a related field.
