About Excelium
Excelium is an Australian cyber security and national security advisory firm working with high-profile government, critical infrastructure and private sector clients. We support organisations with complex security, risk, governance, assurance, operational and strategic challenges.
Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain NV1 security clearance.
We are a senior-led, agile and outcome-focused business. We do not operate like a large consulting firm with layers of hierarchy and oversized delivery teams. Our people work directly with clients, senior stakeholders and experienced cyber and national security professionals to solve meaningful problems and deliver practical outcomes.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and capable Technical Business Analyst or Management Consultant to join Excelium in a mixed delivery role (BA, PM, Management Consulting) supporting cyber security, national security and government advisory engagements.
This role is suited to someone with approximately 3+ years' experience who is looking for their next career opportunity and wants exposure to high-profile clients, complex projects and nationally significant work. You do not need to be a cyber security specialist; however, you must be comfortable working in technical, policy, risk, governance or business environments and be willing to learn quickly.
The role will suit someone with a background in project coordination, project management, business analysis, technical analysis, management consulting, risk, governance or business management.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of client engagements across Excelium's consulting and cyber advisory portfolio.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the delivery of client projects across cyber security, national security, risk and governance engagements.
Acting as a bridge between technical teams, consultants, clients and senior stakeholders.
Coordinating project activities, workshops, meetings, actions, risks, issues and deliverables.
Supporting requirements gathering, business analysis, process mapping and current-state assessments.
Assisting with project plans, delivery schedules, status reports and client-facing documentation.
Preparing briefing material, reports, meeting packs, decision papers and project artefacts.
Supporting stakeholder engagement across government and private sector clients.
Helping translate technical, business and risk information into clear, practical and well-structured outputs.
Working closely with experienced consultants, cyber specialists, security architects and senior leaders.
Contributing to internal delivery improvement, templates, methods and project governance.
About You
You will be energetic, professional, organised and comfortable operating in a fast-paced consulting environment. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you must be curious, reliable and able to learn quickly.
You will bring:
Minimum 3 years' experience in project management, business analysis, consulting, risk, governance, operations or a related role.
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefing notes and client-facing material.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Confidence working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Good organisation, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
A practical, outcome-focused mindset.
Interest in cyber security, national security, government, risk or technology.
Ability to work with senior team members and clients in a professional consulting environment.
Must be an Australian citizen.
Highly Regarded Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be highly regarded:
Government or public sector consulting.
Defence, national security, law enforcement, critical infrastructure or regulated environments.
Cyber security, technology, risk, governance or compliance projects.
Business process mapping, operating model design, service delivery or transformation projects.
Project management or business analysis certifications.
Exposure to security frameworks, risk frameworks or assurance activities.
Experience working in consulting, advisory, technology delivery or professional services environments.
