Computer Network and Systems Engineer

Our Client, City Systems Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join our technical team in Sydney. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining our core digital infrastructure and network environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive network configurations, architectures, and systems infrastructure tailored to business and technical requirements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance, system behavior, and data integrity across local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and cloud environments.
• Configure and deploy network hardware, routers, switches, firewalls, and automated system management applications to streamline infrastructure efficiency.
• Identify, diagnose, and document network bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and system defects, implementing detailed remediation protocols.
• Collaborate closely with software developers, systems architects, and IT security teams to troubleshoot complex integration issues and ensure seamless infrastructure deployment.
• Evaluate and audit the technical performance and reliability of software, hardware, and network infrastructure under simulated, high-traffic, and live environments.
• Contribute to technical quality assurance and network security standards to prevent system vulnerabilities and maintain strict non-compliance protocols across the system development life cycle (SDLC).
• Review and create detailed technical documentation, including infrastructure topology diagrams, operational procedural manuals, network specifications, and test summary reports.

Requirements:

• Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related ICT field.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Computer Network and Systems Engineer or in a strictly aligned network infrastructure role.
• Strong practical knowledge of network routing/switching protocols, firewall administration, and system infrastructure design.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Solid understanding of software, hardware, operating systems, networks and security frameworks
• Familiarity with quality assuranceprocesses and testing protocols
