At Cohort Staffing Pty Ltd, the purpose of the ICT Support and Test Engineer (nec) position is to provide reliable ICT support and system testing services to ensure the effective operation, performance, and security of organisational technology systems. The role focuses on maintaining ICT infrastructure, resolving technical issues, conducting testing and quality assurance activities, and supporting continuous improvement to ensure systems meet operational and compliance standards.

The ICT Support and Test Engineer (nec) at Cohort Staffing Pty Ltd is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support and performing system analysis, testing, and quality review activities to ensure efficient and reliable ICT operations. The role includes diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, conducting system and application testing, providing technical guidance and training to users, preparing technical documentation, and working with management to improve system performance, reliability, and service delivery.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Identify and resolve hardware and software issues affecting desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices to ensure uninterrupted business operations.

•    Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, business applications, and network-related components as per organisational requirements.

•    Troubleshoot connectivity problems related to internet, email systems, shared drives, and internal databases.

•    Perform structured testing of new systems, updates, and patches to verify functionality, compatibility, and performance before deployment.

•    Document test scenarios, record outcomes, and track defects until successful resolution.

•    Monitor system health through regular checks and take proactive steps to prevent potential failures or service disruptions.

•    Assist in analysing recurring technical issues and implement long-term corrective measures to improve system stability.

•    Support users by providing clear technical guidance and resolving service tickets within agreed timelines.

•    Participate in internal system reviews and quality checks to ensure compliance with organisational policies and security standards.

•    Prepare technical reports, maintenance logs, and updated documentation to maintain accurate system records.

•    Contribute to evaluating existing infrastructure and provide input on future hardware and software improvements.

•    Coordinate with vendors, developers, and internal teams to support system enhancements and resolve complex technical matters.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS 

•    A skill level commensurate with a bachelor's degree or higher qualification is generally required for occupations in this unit group.

•    At least five years of relevant work experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for formal qualifications.

•    In some instances, relevant industry experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to formal qualifications.

•    This occupation aligns with ANZSCO Skill Level 1 requirements.
