Position Title: Telecommunications Technical Officer

Salary: $85,000.00 plus Superannuation

Hours: 38 hours per week

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: 3 Lamina Street, Truganina VIC 3029

Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in a similar role

Task & responsibilities

Task & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

As a Telecommunications Technical Officer, your duties will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Installing, maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing faults in microwave, telemetry, multiplexing, satellite, and other electromagnetic communication systems.
  • Configuring and integrating telecommunications systems with computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral devices.
  • Establishing and maintaining telecommunications systems including voice, data, and video.
  • Monitoring, testing, and optimizing the performance of telecommunications networks and associated equipment.
  • Supporting the design, development, and troubleshooting of telecommunications network faults and performance issues.
  • Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, logs, equipment registers, and reports in line with company policies and industry standards.
  • Providing technical support and advice to internal teams and clients to ensure network reliability and optimal performance.
  • Liaising with vendors and service providers to manage equipment procurement, installations, and service-level agreements.

Skills and Experience:

  • A relevant qualification in telecommunications or electronic/electrical engineering (Diploma or higher).
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in a telecommunications or network engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of RF systems, fiber-optic technologies, network protocols, and infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
