The role will involve conducting food-product testing and trials, assessing product quality, supporting the development and improvement of food products, advising on processing, preservation, packaging and storage methods, and developing quality-control and food-safety procedures. Preference will be given to Australian citizens and permanent residents. <h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Competitive salary.</li><li>Full-time and stable employment.</li><li>Supportive and friendly work environment.</li><li>Opportunity to learn and develop new skills.</li><li>Career growth opportunities.</li><li>Work with an established Australian-owned company.</li><li>Gain experience in food production and quality control.</li></ul> <h3>Task & responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Conduct experiments and tests on raw materials and processed potato products to assess their composition, quality and suitability for production.</li><li>Analyse production and testing results to develop and improve food-processing methods, techniques and manufacturing processes.</li><li>Research and develop practical solutions to improve product quality, consistency, shelf life and production efficiency.</li><li>Test finished food products for flavour, colour, taste, texture, appearance and nutritional content to ensure they meet required standards.</li><li>Evaluate the quality of potatoes and other ingredients used in production and advise on their suitability for different product ranges.</li><li>Assist in developing new frozen potato products and improving existing products in response to quality requirements and market needs.</li><li>Conduct product and processing trials under different production, cooking, storage and delivery conditions and assess the reliability of the results.</li><li>Advise on appropriate methods for processing, preserving, freezing, packaging, storing and distributing food products.</li><li>Develop, review and implement quality-control procedures and food-safety standards for the manufacture of frozen potato products.</li><li>Monitor production processes and finished-product quality to identify variations, defects and opportunities for improvement.</li><li>Investigate quality concerns and production issues, determine their causes and recommend appropriate corrective actions.</li><li>Support compliance with HACCP requirements, food-safety regulations and relevant product certification standards.</li><li>Liaise with farmers, suppliers and production personnel regarding raw-material quality, product specifications and processing requirements.</li><li>Prepare and maintain product specifications, testing records, trial results, quality reports and other technical documentation.</li><li>Provide technical advice and training to production and quality-control staff on product quality, testing procedures and food-safety requirements.</li></ul> <h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Food Technology, Food Science or a related field.</li><li>At least one year of relevant industry experience.</li><li>Good knowledge of food safety, quality-control procedures and HACCP requirements.</li><li>Understanding of food-processing, packaging and storage methods.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Good communication, teamwork and record-keeping skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and meet production and quality requirements.</li></ul>
