The Beachcomber Cafe

Beachcomber Cafe in St Kilda is looking for an experienced Chef . The position is full time position with at least a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

We are a successful run café based in the heart of St Kilda beach. Our focus is on modern Australian cuisine with Mediterranean influence.

Skills and Experience:

Successful candidate will need :

  • To be enthusiastic and passionate about creating new dishes for our restaurant menu.
  • Flexible and adaptable to move with the trends
  • Preferably have experience in modern Australian, Mediterranean style cuisine and seafood.
  • Be able to work within a large team in the kitchen, with periods of high volume service and have the ability to teach new kitchen staff their roles .

About the role skills and experience required

  • Monitoring dish quality at all stages of cooking and preparation
  • Develop and test new recipes . Update the menu according to seasonal produce.
  • Maintain product, service and market knowledge
  • Ensures high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout kitchen
  • Ability to direct, supervise and lead the staff.
  • Have strong customer service skills
  • Have the ability to allocate tasks
  • Work well under pressure

Salary ranging from 80k plus
