Chef

We are looking for two experienced Chefs to join the kitchen team at the historic Empire Hotel Beechworth. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality, delicious meals for our lunch and dinner services in a busy regional pub environment. This role involves working with fresh local produce from the North East Victoria region to deliver both classic pub favourites and modern seasonal dishes.

Task & responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes for lunch and dinner services in our pub dining and bar menu
• Work with fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients
• Maintain high standards of food presentation, taste, and consistency
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards (strict compliance with regulations)
• Collaborate with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff
• Assist with menu development and specials where required
• Keep a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment

Qualification & experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef or qualified Cook in a pub, restaurant, or hotel kitchen
• Strong knowledge of modern and classic cuisine
• Relevant Qualification
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willing to obtain)
• Reliable and available for weekend and evening shifts
