Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per annul plus Superannuation

Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional to become part of a supportive team and contribute to the ongoing success of our restaurant.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all required ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
• Cook and prepare menu items using various cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
• Monitor food during preparation and cooking to ensure quality and consistency.
• Ensure all meals are presented attractively before service.
• Maintain correct portion control and food presentation standards.
• Monitor temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
• Ensure food is stored safely and in accordance with food safety regulations.
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies when required.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure efficient food production.
• Prepare sauces, accompaniments, and ingredients prior to service periods.
• Contribute creative ideas for menu development and improvement.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, health, and workplace safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a busy commercial kitchen.
• Experience preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in a restaurant environment.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Ability to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
