Full time Cook

LATHER ENTERPRISE PTY LTD t/a Fraser café located in lively suburb of Fraser which offers great food with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a menu full of delicious, well-crafted dishes that keep customers coming back. 

We are looking for a full-time cook to join our team. This is a full-time position of minimum 38 hours per week at Fraser Cafe located at Shop 3/4 Daley Cres, Fraser ACT 2615.

Benefits

Task & responsibilities

The main job duties are mentioned as under:

• Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to the restaurant’s recipes, menus, and established standards. 
• Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature, timing, and presentation standards to maintain high quality and consistency. 
• Monitor food quality during preparation and service
• checking taste, texture, appearance, and freshness of all dishes.
• Cooking food using various techniques
• Planning menus as per seasonal demand and customer preferences.
• Inventory management including monitoring stock levels, and ordering supplies
• Inspecting deliveries to ensure fresh produce
• Measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
• Chopping, slicing and seasoning food
• Baking, frying, grilling and boiling food
• Adjusting recipes to meet special dietary requirements
• Presenting attractive, appetising and garnished dishes
• Managing food storage and stock levels
• Training kitchen hands, junior staff etc.
• Liaising with wait staff and management to ensure efficient business operations.
• Ingredient selection
• Seasoning of food using herbs, condiments, etc.
• Portioning of food and proper plate presentation.
• Ensure proper food storage and using various preservation techniques.
• Regulate temperature of various kitchen equipment like ovens, grills, etc.
• Ensure hygienic regulations are followed
• Meeting food safety and sanitation regulations

Qualification & experience

The successful candidate will possess:

• Certificate iv in commercial cookery/relevant qualifications
• Minimum one work experience in similar role
• flexibility with working hours and a positive approach to varying shifts and demands. 
• Excellent attention to detail in all aspects of food preparation and presentation. 
• Strong ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
